Who is Eligible for Legal Aid in California?

Are you looking for legal aid in California? If so, you may be eligible for assistance depending on your income and the type of legal issue you are facing. The State Bar Association funds legal aid organizations across the state that provide legal services to Californians who have low and moderate incomes. These organizations focus on a variety of issues, from custody and family law to the rights of people with disabilities and benefits for veterans. Under grant restrictions for our services, you may be eligible for aid if your income is less than 125% or 200% of the federal poverty level. You may also be eligible for assistance, regardless of your income, for health-related issues or if you are an older adult in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Merced or Tulare counties. Here are some resources that can provide legal assistance on foreclosure, rent, homeownership and other laws in California.
